Nymeria is finally out of the Texas shelter and safe with our dear friend Tammy Wald, who stepped in to pick her up on Dave’s birthday. What an extraordinary birthday gift—to save a life.

Nymeria is believed to be a low-content wolfdog, placing her in a difficult rescue loophole. Traditional dog rescues were hesitant because of her possible wolf content, while wolfdog sanctuaries often considered her content too low. With nowhere else to turn and her life at risk, JABCECC committed to giving her a chance.

Although she is now safe from euthanasia, her journey is not over. Nymeria is extremely thin and will need veterinary care, nutritious food, supplies and transportation from Texas to JABCECC in California.
